The Strength & Success VLOG #85
As recent as last year, my mindset was very much get as much done as fast as possible.
Work through all elements of your to-do list on a daily basis.
To an extent that is still true in that I think we do need to be productive.
You need to finish the day leaving knowing that you’ve taken something forward or you’ve moved forward in some way,
I also have another philosophy and that philosophy is that today sets up tomorrow.
So there is a flow. Think about training for example, If you just go in and do a really hard session here and kill yourself on that next day, you’re not going to be that productive the day after and it might be a few days before you might go again.
So rather than that, build up to it and have Peaks and troughs is how we would as coaches suggest to work.
And I think there’s some truth in that or validity in that from just a general work perspective.
So how that manifests itself for me is that it’s not always critical to get every single task on the to do list done.
If you can set tomorrow up effectively with your actions from today, maybe you leave a few things you carry over a few things to the next day,
This method ensures you’re mentally prepped for that and you know that tomorrow you can go big, you can get this done and then you leave it for the next day.
Maybe you have a lighter day and then you go big again.
I think there is logic to that method of working where it’s not just
a hundred ten miles an hour then burn out.
It’s actually more 80 miles an hour still going fast. 75 90 and so on and so forth and so carrying things over prepping for tomorrow.
Leaving today knowing that tomorrow will be good is certainly an option when it comes to effective working.
Don’t pay attention to this whole must get everything done today or it’s too late type of vibe out there.
I think there’s logic in working in a different way.
