The Strength & Success VLOG #88
I read a book by Jeff Thompson.
A quote that resonated from this book was “if you make your hobby your work or your life, you’ll never work again”.
And I needed to hear that, it gave me a lot of belief and Jeff was somebody who’s done this he’s done the job.
He’s turned himself from factory worker into, into a full-time martial artist and life coach and I was fascinated by that and immediately.
Almost immediately after reading the book, I was literally clear on what I wanted to do.
And so the months following that my whole life was destined to become a full-time martial artist with my own gym.
So when they gave me the contract that was quite hard to turn down in theory.
It was an instant decision.
There’s no chance.
I’m done. I’m beyond this and I was suddenly unstuck I’d gone from being stuck to unstuck and then following that I went to train with Dan Inosanto, Bruce Lee’s top student.
I went to train with Straight Blast Gym in Ireland.
I went all over the world.
I suddenly found myself in Thailand, training all of these things to become a world-class martial artist and then later clearly got into strength and conditioning which became my absolute passion.
So what are my learning’s here?
The first thing is you’ve got to sometimes see that it’s possible.
You need to go and find somebody who’s done that and align with them. I needed that book.
I needed to see Jeff’s story to get that belief and I absolutely got that in a heartbeat.
Secondly, go out and do it make it happen.
You’ve got to unleash the confines of being stuck in that the security and actually give yourself an opportunity to be fulfilled in life.
It’s about the next five years, ten years and beyond, where you can be proud of yourself for taking control.
Are you going to take control? Have you already taken control? I’m keen to hear your stories!
