VLOG 136 – What you call yourself matters!
How we define ourselves absolutely positions the value that we offer and so for example, if you’re a personal trainer and you call yourself a personal trainer, people know what that is, an d they instantly commoditise that in their own minds to say well a personal trainer costs this….
So now, if you go in there and say “well actually my prices are twice of that” you’re always going to have a hard time because you’ve started out that process as a personal trainer. Here’s an example that I like to use on my courses….
If I said to you “how much would you pay per year for a personal assistant full-time that works 24 hours a day, never breaks down, and allows you to be 200, 300, 500% more productive than you are right now”.
How much would you pay for that❔
You might be thinking in the thousands for a good person or a good executive assistant.
When I say to you that, that thing that service can be provided for £200, £300, £500, you then might be thinking “hang on, what is this?”
What I’m talking about is a laptop you have got a full-time personal assistant that upgrades itself, stays current & facilitates your productivity full time.
We change the term and we called it a personal performance assistant for argument sake. Instantly, the value is higher so think about what you can define yourself as. If you’re currently a coach or personal trainer, what are you prepared to do❔
And I would suggest to you or challenge you, that it’s worth spending the time educating people as to what you are, who you are, and what you do for people rather than just simply adopting.
You are somebody who can enable somebody to achieve life-changing transformational results.
What is the price for that❔
Let’s not commoditise ourselves.
Let’s not play the pounds per hour game.
Let’s play the outcome game.
