VLOG 137 – Who’s mentoring me?
In my coaching group there’s been a lot of talk about mentors and coaches. Such as do you need one❔ Should you have one❔
I’ve had many coaches many mentors over the years that the current person that I have in my network is a finance expert and what happened was I realised that my strength as an entrepreneur and as somebody who moves quite quickly and is a producer of content.
That’s a super strength, but I also need to strengthen the weaknesses in my repertoire.
And so I needed some financial support more financial acumen, but also I wanted to learn that as well on the way.
I enlisted the help of a finance mentor And that person has been absolutely invaluable. They give me confidence in what I’m doing, but also troubleshoot and go through things and then if there’s anything more specific, like a specific project. They can absolutely take those things on and that is a really solid healthy mentor relationship. It’s a two-way relationship.
I’d like to think I give that person value, asking them questions, engaging with them like they’re a part of my business. They’re a part of my journey.
Previous to that I’ve had mentors to fill gaps where I’ve needed.
So my feeling is that if you want to move quickly, if you want to go far, you’ve got to grow yourself along the way, you’ve got to evolve and generate new layers of technical and physical, mental competence and confidence along the way and so people who are better than you in those areas are critical to that. Bring those people in to work with you.
So as I say if you really want to smash it, if you really want to take your entrepreneurial journey, your coaching journey, your business journey to the places that you’re dreaming of. Look for people who’ve walked the path and bring them in to work with you.
It really is that simple!
